Has anyone actually found a famous treasure or lost mine?

Hmmm...This should be interesting.

Your question may be ok to ask.

But only a fool would answer it!
Do you not realize the depth of the shit one could get into answering such a question?

Well, there have been quite a few. Caches, hordes, lost mines, etc. You'll just have to stick around and figure it all out. Don't sweat that Don Jose character, he has been known to sleep with mules on occasion. God Bless him... :) Other than that, he's an alright fellah. And a looker too, from what the gals have told me. :icon_jokercolor:

I see no harm in showing a few pictures highlighting the find or a sample thereof, though I wouldn't picture more than about $100,000 worth of a larger treasure myself.

As to the source, that could get tricky. I remember one riverboat horde of gold Mexican $50's that was insured when it went down in the late 1800's. A legal team tracked down the descendants of the stockholders of the insurance company and brought a class action suit against the finders. If my memory serves me right, a thirty million dollar treasure for the finders ended them up three million dollars in dept after legal expenses and judgements. So I would be VERY cautious revealing the source of the treasure.

Give me three months and I hope to demonstrate these principles when I share my find on this forum. The rest of you that have already found something, spit it out (or a sample thereof) already.

He is no longer a member, but we used to have one named Grubstake(not exactly his old handle out of respect for his wishes), other wise known as grubby.

He found at least 2 shipwrecks off the coast of California, and has dived on many others. The gold nuggets from his claims were mindblowing. He just arrived in the carribian to dive on another wreck. I just sold 2 of his found coins on ebay. The gold escudo was actually found off of California, no Florida as I had listed. Does anyone know the odds of finding spanish gold off a California shipwreck, as compared to Florida? Here are the links to 2 of his finds, I have seen PILES and PILES of shipwreck coins he has found, so have many others here.

HI scrinch, My mule hates you since it was a nice clean piggie of 1000 #. She hates being reminded that the piggie was sexier than she. I suppose that as a consolation, I should introduce you to her..She IS cute.

As for the rest, sheesh blushing,

Join me in an Irish :coffee2: :coffee2

Excellent, Don Jose de La Mancha.

Beautiful country indeed!

Is that you as a boy in the 1st picture and what year was that if I may ask?

I have found some really fantastic lost treasures. They were worth millions of dollars so I buried them in really great hiding places. Unfortunately, I also have Sometimers Disease and I forgot where I buried them. ??? ??? ???

HI Snake eater: you posted -->

Is that you as a boy in the 1st picture and what year was that if I may ask?
~~~~~~~~
nah, that was a skinny teenager broad that I fattened up and married after a two year full formal Spanish courtship, complete with serenades, duennas, promenades, etc. She turned out to be a beauty, still is.
As for a date, shall we say the early 1950's
I agree with srferjo714 it is all in our mine so we need to stop and spend more time with our wifes and kids.
Just giving this a moment of thought....
It seems that the only folks who could openly admit finding treasure are the guys that are finding meteorites.
There are no goofyass lawyers and judges trying to give it back to the Martians, (who were not looking for it anyhow), for a cut of the proceeds.
Otherwise... the only other treasure I've see here is the unashamed and unending love a man could have for his mule, regardless of how bad a mules breath can get. The mule will carry your load, and provide company.
OK IRS guys the greatest treasure we have found is .... Don Jose!
Treasure is in the eye of the finder just depends on who and what they found means to them!
I could say my GOD, my family etc. but, with a detector ... the back to a CW officers button!
Confirmed lots of people saw me find it! ;D
