What was the greatest confirmed find ever by a member on this forum?

If the IRS has a man or two on this site waiting to pounce despite no action in many years... that would be our tax dollars at work again?

Here's one the IRS can not ever take away...GOD and My wonderful husband...these are true treasures.

Tell your husband to never pay taxes again. The IRS can in fact take him away from you. Sad, but true. Lots of folks in jail for not paying taxes.

Back in the Long John Latham days of True Treasure and Treasure World magazines two people just couldn't wait to get their smiling faces on the cover for their 15 minutes of fame. They were the envy of all their friends. They are now poster boys for shutting your mouth or regretting it. One photo showed a proud grandpa and his grandson triumphantly lifting gold bars from the ground near a tree stump.
The other photo showed a guy with a big s**t-eating grin. He was knelt down on a tarp near an open hole with huge butchering kettle full of silver coins and some scooped out on the tarp.
They got bragging rights and maybe a hundred bucks for the photo. They also got hit with a ton of bricks and ended up in legal trouble and worse than broke paying lawyers. It is said that grandpa had a legal agreement to be on the property. The grinning man didn't.
I will provide the date of the issues if anyone will agree to post the photos of the covers as a thumbnail. siegfried schlagrule

Someone requested the dates of those issues. Here they are. Someone should be nice a post scans of the covers.

Treasure World - November 1972 grandfather and grandson display gold bar . Caption says found in Skeleton Canyon rumor says they had permission to be there but that didn't save them.

Treasure World - September 1972 guy and unearthed pot of silver. caption says $88,000 robbery loot from east texas. Rumor said this was a poached cache illegally recovered. Usually the legal owner also loses out after publicity like this. A whole team got in trouble over this photo.
