What was this hinge used for?

I can't figure out the purpose for this hinge design.

I really enjoyed that And the music was very soothing.

It does look almost exactly like that. I can't make it turn like that though. It might just be stiff though. I just dug it today and I have no idea how long it might have been in the ground.

The one in the video has all four holes open while the one I have has only two, the other two are covered. This has to be the right idea though - thanks!
