I realize folks have been listing fine finds in here throughout 2012 but what was that one score that stood above the rest. It might not even be the most valuable, just the one that meant the most.

My beautiful wife

That's a really tough one. Guess if I had to choose I'd say it was a couple things I found digging in colonial pits and not with a detector. The mid-1600s delftware plate might be my favorite, but right behind that would be the 5 early wine bottle seals. As far as detecting finds, I'll have to list a few that I recall as being favorites. These include my early coin spill, 2 French Rev War buttons, a 1583 hammered sixpence, a 1-piece early Corps of Engineers button, a rare Kentucky state seal button, a 1600s signet ring, a $1 gold coin, and my first US box plate. If I can be just half as successful in 2013 I'll be estatic. Happy New Year and good luck to everyone in 2013!

Although 2012 was a terrible year detecting wise, it produced my best Anglo Saxon Sceat to date...Eadberht, King of Northumbria AD 737-758.

15.6 gram platinum wedding band. The last "pulltab" signal I dug on my way out of a junk infested fishing spot.I thought it was white gold, untill I saw the 900 plt mark.I tried for 2 months to return it,but wound up trading it for a new relic machine!

I had a very good year, detecting wise, with some stunning finds. The find that means the most to me was also the last good find for 2012. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/todays-finds/324319-roman-wulf-pin.html The Pendant in shape of the Dacian Wolf Windsock. Such a pendant was very valuable back then and the owner must been very proud of it. Now, after nearly 2000 years it was after a new owner.....

1944 Walking Liberty

Just started in July so a 1936 D walking liberty half I think inspired me the most.

Sent from my iPhone using TreasureNet

My was a water hunt, after scoring a war nickel and a silver Washington. On my way out of the water I decided to dig one more target, out of one hole came out 2 big gold rings, a 64 Washington quarter and two wheaties! My glory hole lol!

I made a few good finds this year, the little GW button was probably the most valuable but this early Navy button really has a lot going for it. It's old, it's scarce, it's big and the patina is a nice contrast of green and gold. I didn't do well on coins this year, most were either very common or in bad shape or both :) I did get one indian head that stands out above the rest, an 1864 L.
