Looks like it could be a multi purpose type item :dontknow:

Yeah, an archaic leatherman tool.
 

It's a Spokeshave used to fine tune shafts and sinew......i'm sure there are many more uses for this tool. I believe it would have been used as a scraper as well.......Hope this helps.........................GTP

...my first post in a while...i too have a leatherman tool...see upper middle in attached pic...i find lots of "tools"...all found in chatham co., nc...
