what would you pay for this 1805 Draped Bust LC?

I dug her on 6/30, cleaned of the nasty crud. only "one" and a few leaves & right face profile were visible before cleaning. coated with beeswax to enhance details. need a fair estimate of value

A relic indeed, too bad about the condition. Nice to find something older than the hills. When I find a real old coin, I always wonder where has this coin been, who touched it, what history can it tell ?

Judging from sold ebay listings I would guess in the $20 to $30 range. Nice find.

Possibly quite a bit more if it is a Sheldon 268 Variety with a Blunt "1" in the Date. See the eBay link below. Since I cannot make out much of the Date on the coin, I cannot tell. The second link is of all 3 Varieties with pics.

I stand corrected--upon closer examination this appears to be an 1803 "small date, large fraction" variety. top 1 of fraction has a left pointing bar at top, the 3 has a downward spike at top left of 3 with a blunt 1.

The change in date and Variety may or may not have a significant effect on what price it might fetch. The main thing is to identify which of the 5 of Small Date/Large Fraction Varieties it is and then a somewhat better value might be possible.
