Tried a new Baltimore City park today and soon found the soil to be entirely fill, however my first good target was a '57 quarter.

This quarter was less than 3 inches deep and came up almost black (did it come from water?).
I continued and began recovering deep demo debris but persisted and ended up with a 4 oz. lead weight,
a seal from a Canadian Gold Pennant whiskey,
a lead disk with the letters 'R' and 'V' stamped,
and a classic head half cent. The half cent is identified by the break in the obverse star pattern
and the line beneath CENT on the reverse.
