Whats the best way to clean old coins?

What's the best way to clean off old coins that are caked with dirt especially wheat pennies and Indian Head pennies and copper coins like that and I guess I would like to know about silver coins as well thank you please help me out people

They sell a pencil kit that is for copper coins and relics. I use those all the time on any copper or brass relics or coins.
Also, I’ve heard rock tumblers do a good job too, but be careful they aren’t key dates etc. I’m going to start using the tumbler for all my clad coins and maybe some of my relics.
