What's the most valuable coin you've ever discovered?

There's actually already a thread on this topic. Look back a week or two.

Found that 25 centavos at a TD Bank Penny Arcade.. worth maybe $100?

Those are my best finds, from CRHing.

Enamel7- thanks I didnt realize that!

Figured I would start this thread because Im genuinely curious to hear some good stories- let's hear 'em! What are your best CRH finds?

Mine was actually 10 days ago... a G-6 1918-D Buffalo nickel. Worth about $30 based on the $22 value in G-4 and $40 in VG-8. Best of all, it replaced the one in my Dansco Album which was an AG-3!

Spanish gold coins when I was 8, cousin was 14. Padre Island, 1956, before the National Seashore.

That's an awesome find, but was it CRHing? Mine is pretty low. An 1883 IH penny in VG condition.

1913 TY1 Buffalo nickel found in a roll but looks unc.

Coin roll hunting - 1928 P Dollar from a teller. Detecting - 1774 full gold guinea on the beach from a shipwreck.

My best find was this in collar double struck penny with weak first strike. Hopefully I find another one soon.:hello2::icon_thumright:

In my relatively short stint as a CRHer, I would say mine is a rotated reverse Jefferson Nickel that I posted not too long ago. Don't know what I would actually get for it; but, I would assume that it would be more than a silver war nickel.

Thank jcole77 and twitch!

Hightek: in all the many years of my coin collecting days (since the '60's) I have NEVER come across a double cross strike penny like you found. Great find & congrats. HH
