Hey all,

Just got back from Ocean City and about 6 hrs. detecting on the beach over 2 days. A bit chilly with wind at times, but overall not bad weather-wise.

Coin pickings were slim - only 2 recent pennies.

However, using the 'all metal' setting I found many potentially dangerous objects.
Seven rusty nails, a couple razor sharp. Also, an 8 inch section of barbed wire, a leaky small battery, spoon handle, a couple screws, etc.

I know in monetary value it would seem like a bust...but....as some of you may agree or feel...just enjoying the (semi) warm sunshine and knowing you possibly helped someone avoid getting injured stepping on some of these hazards made it fundamentally worthwhile.

Anyone else experience this feeling?

Good on you. I thank you on behalf of all the parents out there! ... Not to mention, ourselves,

I wore gloves yesterday and still came home with a few cuts and scratches.

OC, NJ or MD?

MD.

Also, I, too, always wear gloves - especially for sharp edges.

Yep I've done that too. Be sure to show the life guards what you collected off "their" beaches on behalf of everybody!

I tell people I'm not treasure hunting, I'm beach cleaning
