Where do I find glaciation maps for the Washington Cascades?

Where, oh where, do I find an exhaustive study of the extent of erosion, time frame, flow direction and terminal ends of every known glacier period for the area between Goat Rocks and Mt St Helens?

Because google will not tell me.....

I'm a pretty skilled googler and Ive put at least 6 hours into it.

Did you try " Geological history of the Goat rocks area in Washington state " you may have to go to the U.W geology dept. library to get the info you want.

Here's a PDF with an overview, graphics and several dozen references to reports that have the information you want.

As et1955 indicated you may need to acquire and read several actual books if you want to study in detail. Google only goes so far.

sometimes it not as easy as a google search
when searching use the term Quaternary or Pleistocene glaciation and when you find a promising publication
then look under the "references cited" section then search for those papers.

Thanks for all the information guys. That will give me some new stuff to read.
It's a pretty fascinating puzzle to try and solve.
Learning to read those geological maps is a pretty interesting experience.

It also amuses me that all the geologists who study the area just finally kind of scratch they're head and throw up they're hands when they actually try to understand that mess. LOL

My hat is off to the guy that did the McCoy Quad. That is some steep rough country and he really put his time in to map it accurately.

Jstor.org also provides access to numerous sources on many a subject, really saved my life during college. May or may not have exactly what you're after, but if you're still looking for more information it might be worth a look.
