Just finished six weeks in Cache Creek Colorado and made my way down to Alamosa Colorado before the first snow fall. I have to decide on a winter destination by November, as i understand it will become quite cold here by then. Any suggestions ? I am considering Turkey Creek just outside Black Canyon City Arizona as a possible destination, but haven't got any details from local prospectors about access to sites for camping and panning. Nor have i ever winter camped in the area, so i don't know how harsh the winter can be there. I'm pretty well equipped for camping, although i'm limited to what i can carry in a backpack and a small cart. Injuries i recieved ten years ago leave me unable to drive. So a place within a couple of miles of a store would be great. Anyplace too remote would involve hiring transportation for resupply... and i've found hiring drivers out here can be very expensive.

Quartzsite, AZ. THOUSANDS will come from as far away as Upper Canada to be here. BIG winter community. Lots of shops. Party atmosphere. An RV gathering spot. TTC

After spending relaxing time in the boonies of casche creek do ya really want to go to a festering jam packed carnival of humanity??? John :dontknow:
