Which White's MD is best for...

red/orange clay? I live in Orange County, VA & most of the dirt around my area is clay. I was told that a White's MD would be the best to use, but which one? There's aso a lot of mineralization in the ground. Thanks.

Not only Whites but also Garrett, Minelab and Tesoro detectors are useable in your area. You have many choices depending on your budget. You just have to get one that can be manually Ground balanced. All others are entry level detectors and might not handle the extra minerals in the ground. You can't go wrong with a top of the line as they are very adjustable for all over the world. For land I like my DFX and Sov GT, but There are many others. Lately I have been having a lot of fun with my Fisher 1235, an older one with set GB.

You should get one that you can used different size coils for various jobs. The best coil you can generally use is a very small one for trashy areas so to get hopefully only one target under it at a time.

I do alot of hunting in Culpeper same type of soil and use the MXT with the D2 coil and been doing great.
