Usually around $250 ish. Single frequency 50 mhz, manual ground balance and has iron discrimination. Difficult to use compared to newer units but will beep with the best of them.

Extremely sensitive, manual ground balance, no multi frequency. A great machine for an older model. I once found a single strand of speaker wire about an 1/8 of an inch long in a crevice on a creek.

Just bought one on craigslist in Sacramento for $60.00. Was in very good shape. Took it out last night to a kids softball field. Had over 100 hits in 45 minutes that I did not dig. Seems to be very sensitive. Haven't used it for gold prospecting yet but that's next. The ground balancing is manual but does not seem that difficult If you don't mind a lot of knob twisting. If you can get it at a good price.

That's for sure! I told Mojo you can expect to find wire half the width of a spark plug gap. Sometimes the only way I can actually find the wire is to pan out the target in a clump of soil.

Au, yuup used to spend the time looking for the little bugger, now i just grab a handful of dirt toss in a bucket or pouch to pan later/drywasher
