Is anyone using a whites idx pro? I am about a year into it and learning it pretty well, but looking for any tips and tricks anyone might have with this machine...

Hi , I'm using the IDX Pro. I just purchased it 2 weeks ago. I picked it up for 290.00 new. I really like this unit, I found a good amount of clad and 2 silver quarters in the last week. The only thing I noticed with the IDX is it will sometimes pick up tree roots... Does this happen to you also? I run my machine on the presets and adjust between coin and gold settings.
If I learn any new tricks with the IDX I'll pass them on.

Depending on where im detecting and the time i have alloted detecting that day i go anywhere between the coin range and ring range, if im out for the day i do a little experimenting. I earn more about it every time i use it. definately study the manual, as it will help alot. As far as picking up tree roots, my buddy and i were out searching one day, and he found a nail grown into a tree root. If you have a pinpointer, find the spot on the root, and get to the bottom ogf the signal!
