Garret Pinpointer

Metal Detecting
I bought a whites pinpointer and I've had it for 6 weeks. It started to stay on when the button wasn't pressed or I had to bump it to get it working. Yesterday it just stopped working and I have a fresh battery in it. Is this a common problem? Maybe sand inside the switch? Thanks.

I had the same problem with this pinpointer. Get a phillips screwdriver and take it apart. Bend the electrical contacts back towards the 9 volt battery. Problem temporarily solved. I think it is a design flaw.

i'll give that a try, thank you

Yes, I had problems with mine, button slowly got worse, then wouldn't work at all, It was only 1 month old, I brought it back to my whites dealer, he sent it in for repair, they sent me a brand new one, even though the probe was pretty scratched up! No questions asked! Whites service and machines are the best! It was a bullseye 2

while apart spray wd40 on the switch. thats usually my problem. i have completely worn 3 of these down to a nub

im planing on buying one tomorrow i hope i have better luck

Go with a VibraProbe, don't waste money on the Whites

Don't get the Whites. Buy a Pro Pointer it's a world of difference.

Get a sunray, they are sweet!!

Take it back to your dealer, or send it to Whites. It caries the same warrantees as all their equipment. They will fix it or give you a new one.
White's is the gold standard in customer service.

Sent mine in for the same problem. Whites sent me a brand new one! Still a piece of junk tho. The thing has a mind of its own. Aint worth the foil i used to hold the battery in tighter. Guess Whites knows its garbage if they are giving out brand new replacements.

Least they owned up to it & sent u a full replacement instead of beating around the Bush & thats y I stick with whites brand & the garrett's both have awesome customer service. No complaints about either company. Still made in the USA

Yeah the Bullseye pointers are the poorest quality piece of equipment Whites ever produced. I dont understand how it made through QC.

its hard to digest a great company with many great detectors doesnt have a good pinpointer

Be of good cheer..... White's is coming out with a new pinpointer..... They are however still waiting on the housing for the unit.

Pin Pointer

I've been waiting for 4 months on an update myself. If it would work wirelessly with the V3i and be like a Sunray probe it sure would be sweet.
