Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

Especially on a N.J. Boardwalk.

Just desserts? Bird beaten for stealing ice cream

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- A rare gull that apparently tried to eat a couple's ice cream was euthanized after the man beat the bird with a stick. Dragan Djuric, 50, of Wichita, Kansas, and his wife were eating ice cream New Year's Eve on the boardwalk at Main Beach when a flock of birds attacked them, Laguna Beach police Sgt. Jeff Calvert said.

One bird hit Djuric's wife in the head and tried to take the ice cream. Djuric was defecated on.

One of the birds - a rare Heermann's gull - sustained a broken wing and was later euthanized.

Just became a Little Bit Rarer

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

That's a funny video clip, As far as tasting like Bald Eagle, I've never much cared for the taste of it myself! :-\

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

Quote from the article:

"Djuric was cited and released on suspicion of animal cruelty."

More bs from the gov't. Defend yourself from any creature whether man, bird or otherwise and you'll be on the wrong side of the law.

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

Heermann's gulls are on the Audubon Society's watch list for at-risk birds. The creatures are surprisingly aggressive and steal fish from the pouches of pelicans and chase other birds to take their prey, according to the society's Web site.

The estimated population of Heermann's gulls is 525,000
.

How Many do there Have to be ?

10 for every Human Being to Steal From & Crap on
Before their Happy ?

All we need is two for a Zoo somewhere

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

Love that video. Thinking about trying to train a crow to snatch hoodlum chains myself...

I believe the correct number is closer to 524,999

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

The tourist feed the seagulls here all the time. I keep far away from that area and just stand back and watch them get pooped on. ;D

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

One of the tactics of Seagulls is to dive bomb, and squirt a bird terd that looks something like an over-ripe squashed bananas, with extreme accurracy, onto human food as its being extended to the mouth, then swoop in and cherry-pick whatever you dropped.

You always want to look at your food just before it hits the lips ;D

If Seagull terds were solid, they'd be a lot of injured and dead people along the coastal areas.

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

TOO FUNNY!!! ;D ;D ;D They should use the Seagull video for the Doritos commercial. "Even Seagulls love the taste of Nacho Cheese Doritos!"

I think it is more funny that the Seagull took a dump on his or his wifes head for beating it up! ;D ;D ;D ;D

When I was 15 me a some friends would throw Alka Seltzer in the air at the Seagulls, they would eat it and then fly a bit and then pummel to the ground! I feel bad now for doing that, but when you are young one tends to get into mischief.

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

Last time I heard all sea going birds, including gulls, are protected species. That means this is no legal way to hunt/kill them. I think the guy who killed this bird could be in trouble.

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

hey gang,
Out here in SoCal this guy is in for aTON of trouble. All the Peta idiots are climbing on the bandwagon...

Re: Who Hasn't ever wanted to do this ?

Detecting one day at the North Avenue Beach I got splattered by two at once. Didn't notice the quarter-sized splotch on my shoulder, to busy cleaning the face. That stuff is very acidic and it seemed to give me a minor chemical burn because I didn't remove it right away.

Watch that stuff!
