Who in your opinion was the best "hard rock" band ever?

If you are an old rocker like me, you probably have a favorite all time band. Maybe more than one.
Classic rock bands from the late 60's to the early 90's.

I'll let you know when someone picks my favorite.

ya know Hendrix was voted by some magazine as the greatest rock guitarist ever.......he was great, but the best? I donno.

Don't know who was the best because I never much cared for it, but KISS was definately the smartest. Out of costume they didn't have to contend with the crowds and screaqming girls and the papparazzi. I recall them being around several years before they ever let themselves be photographed without the costumes. Monty

Monty - yep, they really hit the mark with the PR. I saw them twice live, and they do put on a show.

Three days Grace (are they considered HR?) if so Breaking Benjamins and Seether would be newer bands.

Always loved the Eagles, CCR, Rolling Stones, BadFinger, Beatles and Alice Cooper.
