They must be the most overlooked piece of jewelry in the whole case. I mean really who wears a brooch anymore? The old ladies at church? And teachers? Idk, but they get missed a lot. Them and cufflinks I believe. No cufflinks today, but a 14k circle brooch. Antique Chinese jade brooch and sterling silver turtle for $9. At 3:00 when they put the jewelry out at 9:00 am. And this store runs 1000s of people a day through it on Saturday!

2.8gr on the 14k.

Love a late score.

Twas your day.

Yeah women just don't where brooches anymore. To me that's a good thing. I like the gold ones because they generally weigh more than most gold pendants, chains and rings and are often more over looked. Cufflinks I believe still have a market in Europe, but they gotta be something unique and made by a recognized maker. Seems the ones I've sold always go over to France.

Found an extra bonus from yesterday. Bought a box of jewelry boxes because I like to mail my jewelry in them when I sell it. Surprise! Somebody told me they got the watch in a junk bag last week. Well yesterday I got the box for it their watch. He said it was a ladies. I might ask him tomorrow if he wants to sell the watch without telling him I have the box.

No true! Me! Me! Me! I wear brooches. One jewelry store told me that brooches are starting to make a come back. I wear big blingy costume brooches on my jackets in the winter and gold ones on my tops year round.

I buy them every chance I get if the price is right. I have about 300 of them at least. I'll put them on eBay in 80+ lots but sales have been a bit slow. If I take the time, they will sell faster in small lots for about $19.99.

I buy brooches all the time myself. If they aren't gold or silver, they have to be signed or unique in some other way.

And I'm sure they look lovely on you, too. :icon_biggrin:

Brooches are awesome. I have a Georg Jensen #97 with a coral stone in it from the late 60s. Georg Jensen helped me figure out a date on it and told be the Georg Jensen himself designed the piece in the early 1900s and they remade it a few times. Anyhow turns out it sells $300++ with a stone! Found it for $3 melt value. Brooches are great, especially cameos.

I see a lot of older Ladies wearing them. My Wife for instance.:icon_thumleft:
