Mentioned to a buddy that I collect coins, and he said he had some wheat pennies from his grandpa. "Wanna sell them?," I immediately but but calmly ask. He says yes and says he has $20 of rolled unsearched wheats, maybe even more if he can find them. After negotiating, he accepted 150% face value. I've only gone through $5 and already there was a 1909, 3 from the teens, 6 1920s, about 20 1930s, about 150 1940s and about 250 1950s. Some good AU condition coins too. Also one 1956 dime, 2 steelies, and a 1930 Canadian cent. I'll post more photos of the coins tonight and give you the full breakdown.
OH! I almost forgot, these wrappers smell like they've been soaked in Old Spice or some other old man grandpa cologne/aftershave. My buddy said, "yup, my grandpa used to bathe in that stuff." Really adds to the connection of these rolls to the original owner. He's looking for another $25 box he says he has - hoping he finds it.
