I have been hunting for a broken gold chain necklace for four days with no success.
Unless they are balled, have a large clasp, or a medal they are very hard to detect.
I agree with Dr Joe Prime that this deserves my vote for a Banner as it is so difficult to find in addition to its value.
However, I still wish it was I!

Sir Gala Clad, You are so right. I was using my E-Trac when I found it. I had a quarter reading when I dug. I looked in my scoop and there it was. I thought it was silver which would explain the 46, 47, 48. I started looking for the 925 but instead I see 750. I went back over the same spot and pulled a quarter a nickel and a penny. I had my doubts about it because I have been fooled by hopefully believing that the marks were right. I took it home and did the scratch test. 18k. I thought maybe I should take it to a jeweler to have it checked out. Maybe it's plated. He dipped it in nitric acid and said if it is not real it will bubble a green foam. It didn't. I ask him what he thought cost when it was new. He said between $4,500 to $5,000. All I could say was amazing.. I got it home and made a ball out of it, found a spot in my backyard that didn't have any signals and went over it with my MXT Pro. It read 24, solid everytime I went over it.
