Why GTI owners use all metal mode?

I have not had a coin hit over 6 inches using Jelwery and coin modes. Has anyone got deeper with those modes with a standard coil? Should I use my larger coil? If so how much deeper will I go for coins? How deep will all metal mode get me?

All I can say is with all metal mode it will go much deeper.
With stock coil a 1/3' foot is no problem with SMALL NAILS( :P)
With the 12.5" coil I get 1' without problems (at beach on larger object about 8-10 cm wide)
But be ready to dig a lot(trash)!
