My favored detector is a Cibola - It doesn't like telling me it has found junk, more than once...!
Great discriminator, light weight, goes deep, tough, no-nonsense machine...!
Now, awaiting news on the NEW machine....(really?)

I love my Tesoro's because they find treasure. Here are a couple of examples..

because what they have out work well. i like the detectors. just not the companies management.

So, are most Tesoro's users, including myself.

Secret handshake? Dang it. I didn't finish reading the manual.

They'er alot like Lays potato chips , you can't eat just one. Peeboo you can't have just one. Once you have two or more then you can send away for your secret handshake decoder ring. Or better yet find one at your local tot lot.

Lol awesome. But no handshake for the silver? [emoji58]
That's funny though.

I use 'em because they're Quagmire approved.

I like having a bunch of different Tesoro detectors to change things up.

I had a delightful day out with my Tesoro Golden µMax (new tone version). I thought I'd get the new year started off with a detector that I've not used in awhile. I found around 40 pieces of clad, a bunch of nickels, 12 wheat pennies and a couple of Rosie dimes (1962, 1964). Both silver dimes were found in the grassy area between the curb and side walk at homes that were built in the late forties and early fifties. My Golden µMax will give a clear high tone ID on a dime at 8+ inches using the 8 inch doughnut coil. The trick to getting great depth is using minimum discrimination and not using the notch feature. Just listen to the audio tones. Nickels have a distinct gobble/mid-upper audio tone when the notch width control knob is set properly and the notch width switch is left in the off position. Great detector!

Here's a picture of my pretty Golden µMax in action today:

Folks,

I have to admit I'm somewhat biased but yeah my boring Tesoro DeLeon is my go to machine....it ain't the deepest, fanciest, etc...but it gets the job done.

Why do I own Tesoro's?
Because while I do like my high-end Whites VX3, sometimes the information overload causes me to talk myself out of digging what could be a good target. The discrimination of my Tesoros is so trust worthy that if they say dig it... I dig. And they are usually spot on.

Loving my Metal Detectors!

New Tesoro detector ??

Because they make me feel so dirty.
They are the everymans detector.
Chicks dig em.
The secert hand shake.
And because they are gonna make a new one in 2016.

Any information on this new detector? Is it gonna be a much more "hi tech" detector like the Deus and others?? I've long thought that even though the Tesoro lineup of detectors are solid, dependable, and lightweight machines, they are "old school" and have been missing out on sales to other companies with the newer and far more hi tech machines like the Deus XP, the Racer, F75, and some other brands. I will be interested to see what kind of machine it will be, and if they are willing to really "push the envelope", or if it will be a "do over" of one of the existing machines with one or two new features.

um yeah its kind of something , um we dont talk about , um we a, well ever since the , oh never mind. Lets just say its been a difficult subject for us Tesoro die hards. So shhhh don't mention it , the Cazador.
But the good news is we are currently working on the seceret handshake for it. We might include a white sequined glove in the handshake.

Love that coil on your Vaq Terry, hows it working out? Is it deeper that the stock one?

Knobs and switches man!!! That's what it's about!! I just can't get on board wit this new tech. These kids today with there smart phones and screens and minus. I can see the day when a detector will be just like a smart phone. You just buy an app for any model machine the company offers and download it to your detector. You could have multi machines on one unit. Me I will just show up with my old school Tesoro with the knobs and switches and be a novelty to them. They will think I just stepped out of the 70's. Heck I may even grow my sideburns out and buy some polyester to wear when I go tectin. Some big o'l chrome cop sun glasses and a trucker hat....yeah that's the ticket.
