Sorry folks, no wreckage pics. 40 years ago this October one of WSU's team planes slammed into a mountain on the divide east of here. 31 were lost. Some of the folks were fellow Oklahomans (one guy grew up 20 miles from where I did back in Oklahoma) so I thought finally I would go pay my respects. Tough hike straight up the mountain. It's a quiet place, and a pretty view, but just a little overwhelming even after 40 years, sorry, I couldn't bring myself to post any wreckage pics.

I should have pointed out that the memorial is down along I-70. The second pic is taken from the crash site, which is about a half mile up the mountain from there. I'm right above the wreckage, lookin east.

I don't remember the crash, but since then, WSU, still doesn't have a football team

They fixed it up pretty nice. Beautiful scenery around it.

I remember hearing about it real well, because when it happened, I was going to school in Cordell, OK, which is just south of Clinton OK where Randy Kiesau was from. Those schools were football rivals. They haven't really fixed up the site Ray. The second pic is right above the crash site, and there's still wreckage scattered everywhere, right below me. The site has been respected by visitors. I took one pic of some memorial buttons that were pinned to pieces of the wreckage, and that was it for me. There was just too much of a feeling on the spot; a little overpowering. You can find pics on the internet of the crash scene if you want. But none taken by me.
