Well what can I say...sometimes it goes that way. Don't get me wrong, I got lots of buttons, buckle pieces and modern drops like mercury dimes, indians and neat trinkets but my passion is OLD AS POSSIBLE. And my wifes buckle is EXACTLY what i am looking for. No matter, I get to play with it too. lol

I'll spare you the photos of all the other, mostly utilitarian stuff. Here are the best 4 finds in raw form. I did get a couple halfpennies but they are just spent discs. My only find shown here is the gem cuff link button.

1805 reale
1660-1720 buckle frame (similar to Whitehead 624)
1760s Hibernia halfpenny
Early to mid 18th century gem cuff link button

Will do. Thanks. All 3 of these are firsts for her. She got a Spanish 1/2 reale 20+ years ago when we were "pre family" but it was almost void of any detail.

The wife did good today. Nice relics and coins, especially that buckle!

I love the oldies myself...those early buckles are works of art in my opinion...I have only found 2 that style one frame...and one complete...your wife did awesome..thanks for sharing.

Hey she had a great hunt...now do you really think she'll let you play with them...nice little gem you picked up as well

CANT WAIT TO SEE CUFF LINK GEM CLEANED .. SWEET ....

Great variety, history, and beauty across those finds.

And how cool that you and your wife get to share this hobby!

Nice finds. Looks like yall had a good day.
That buckle is really cool, and I like the cuff-link.
Wouldn't have minded seeing the other stuff either.
Now we know who the real detectorist is in the family. :laughing7:

Great Hibernia and Spanish for by the Ms. The buckle frame is also a real great find. I really like the gem cuff however - never found a old gem relic, period.

Awesome day and sounds like you two have a little friendly competition. Congrats to both of you!

Yep,, the bride put a whooping on you
lol
I still like looking it Mercury's and IHP'S
Congrats to both of you.

Looks like the lady is dialed in brotger! I bet there was lots of singing with those finds lol

Congrats to your wife. Nice finds.

Let's hear it for the ladies! Yeah and you too.

From memory the linked button is late 17th to early 18th C.

LOVE THAT BUCKLE!!! Congrats on your finds! Gotta love having a girl who loves it as much as you do. :)

Thanks for all the comments. So the linked button is same age as buckle. Even better.

Yes Patriot, the playground is still open. lol

That's why I'm afraid to take my wife out. And she might want to let go of any of her finds :laughing7:. BTW - that was a nice hunt with some quality pieces being found.
