I got out for another hunt yesterday to an old homestead which was torn down over 80 years ago. This was also a stopping area for the British army while marching their prisoners from Annapolis Royal to Windsor. We have permission to hunt but have been told to be careful around the bulls. The area is now pasture for cows and horses. The bulls did not really bother us but two of the biggest horses I have ever seen were our shadows for at least an hour. They stood about two heads higher then me and liked to get up close and personal. At one point I turned my back to start digging and heard the horse gallop up to me...I wheeled around and was inches from this things face...pretty scary for a past city slicker.
Finds were two buckles and a musket ball. I have been told that the ornate buckle may be from a British army uniform. Anyone have any ideas?
