found this today need some help with it i think it might be a air line pin but all the ones i have seen on the net with American air line have two [ A ]s and the place i found this way out in the woods makes me think it is a older kind of air pin maybe 30s 40s thanks bjb

The style of it certainly does look like something from the 1930s-40s, I agree. But I'm afraid I can't help with the ID.

Y'know, there were some car companies that had logos with wings like that, too. Austin comes to mind. But if it has a pinback, you're probably right about it being an airline pin. And of course it is too small to have been any kind of automobile emblem off an old car.

A promotional or (gas station attendant's) uniform pin for the Flying A gasoline company, maybe? It looks a lot like the logo on this old roadmap:
