Winter Bean Field - Day 9.........

Finished the lower section of the field (bottom 1/3rd) where all the archaeology is & where the soil is sandy. Further up the hill it turns to heavy clay & the older finds run out. (4.5 hours hunt)

Lovely weather with clear Sky's but still cold & on my own again.

Second to last run, I found a small silver object. Stuck it in the pouch thinking it was Victorian, when I cleaned it at home I noticed no hallmark Very pleased with the workmanship of this very nice whatzit.

Its a copper farthing & yes technically hammered, I only count silver.

Its not going to happen like that. The fields we have are not good enough. I have already done 3 hours today in hard stubble with not much. I never sit at home unless I have finished detecting.

OOOOhhh, you mean the avatar... yea sorry, but the other one (Mary and child in the chapel didn't get the response I thought it would, 0 in total).
But I WILL still place it in the best finds sometime in the future, it is a TOP find. I guess the reason for no responses was that everyone has found one of them once in their finds... who knows. This pelgrims badge I still have not determined, its not such a rare one, but just no time! Always busy it seems.

Sorry Shaun. I know about your work and it necessitates taking all that stuff in your car, its really OK.. You know I knew some one who I rode with back in the 80's. He had bought a new BMW 4 door back in the 70's and had never cleaned it one bit. Not the outside (but it rains much here as you know) and especially not on the inside. Your car looked clean compared to that long haired guy. So don't feel bad! We could have gone in my car but it was full (and broken also). BTW the car has been all fixed up perfect, and you cannot see anything from the bump.
