Last night, I dreamed I found a gold coin. Tonight I was leafing through the newest issue of the Garrett Searcher and saw they used a finds pic I had submitted! Woohoo. Page 15 if you're interested, lol. I was the envious button finder in upper left. Tnet'er Antiquarian has a pic of 4 of his Martingales in this issue also. Congrats Dave!

I am with you OLd Dude.....

Yep. All the snow has finally shut me down, but I will still carry my At Pro while out Chaga hunting. Congrats on your submission to Garrett Searcher. It was a very cool find. What app do you use to create those images on your iPad. They are really awesome.

Liking the first one Old Dude.

Nepa I wonder how many actually know what Chaga is? Have/had a family in the hamlet that thinks that they have the right of entitlement to everything in this world. This includes coming on the property and harvesting every piece of my Chaga. He left one on a tree that he couldn't reach or it was too small to bother with.

Thanks Helix, Will and Pepper! I feel sorry for our ladies that have to put up with our boredom, lol.
Will, I used Pho.to Lab Pro on both and a combination of Pho.to Lab Pro and Graffiti Me on the first pic.
Pepper, I am one that does not know what Chaga is, unless maybe some call it Ram's Head? Is it a mushroom?

Mushrooms....describes a LOT of folks these days..kept in the dark,fed BS.:laughing7:

It's completely shut down here in NorthEast NJ. I was still wrestling through the ground up until a little over a week ago , but that's done. It's funny you mention dreaming of coins because I did as well. I dreamed of a few seated quarters and dimes in a group....not a bad day

It'll get better soon. Cheers

It's funny, Scrappy. I usually can't remember my dreams. The only other dream that was so vivid was when I first quit smoking years ago, and dreamed I was lighting up and thinking " I'm not supposed to be doing this ". That just shows I am as hooked as I was to cigarettes, lol. Hang in there. It will get here...

the snow is winning

Very cool OD! Thanks for sharing that. I just had to shovel tracks in my backyard because my poor 80 lb dog can't pee or poop or barely even get around in this crap. It's getting ridiculous!

Yeah, I know Abe. We got rain on top of several inches snow the other day and now have a crust on top of our snow. When I take the dogs for a walk, I have to shuffle my feet to break the icy glaze for them. They hate walking on it and occasionally having their paws break through.

Pepper, I have a neighbor that has that same sense of self worth. She didn't like the view of the little creek from her front porch and sent her " hubby " over to the neighbor's yard to cut down a small tree that impeded her view.

I think that something is just missing with some. A friend told me the other day that their friend ordered a new bedroom set from the furniture place, it didn't arrive so they called the store. The answer was that they delivered it to their address. Well they said that was their home but it's been a rental for 10 years, so the guy goes over knocks on the door and asks for his furniture, renters says no that it belong to them as they signed for the delivery. Guy phones the cops, renter tries to kick them out as well as they seriously believed it was theirs now.:laughing7:

I got to love the power company leaving cut wood on my sugar bush trails. So I got chore of driving 30 miles to town for a new drive chain.

Poor Pooch!.. The only one that seems content with this weather is my Husky,Lola ( That's her, my avatar)
I've been taking them to the dog park every night after work,in the dark where I kick her Jollyball to her and watch her enjoy herself-for like 5 minutes till I can't take
the cold anymore. She growls and gives a wag to apologize. I don;t think I've been able to detect since early Jan.

Unfortunately some people suck. I have learned over the years from older people who have taught me how to mushroom hunt. Never take more than you need. If it is something that last a few days, again take what you need, but share the rest with a friend. Specifically the elderly who enjoy something such as a ramshead and can't get out anymore to find them for themselves. But knowing the proper way to harvest what you forage is the only way to maintain the forest and having the mushroom grow the following season. As far as Chaga. It is a general rule of thumb not to harvest anything smaller than your fist. I still let them grow, unless it looks like the tree wont make it another year. Sorry that my post went off topic. But i think we all can say that in whatever hobby we partake in. Ethics matter.

Will, you wouldn't have to worry about me over harvesting...I don't know edibles from poisonous, so they're all yours! When I lived in OKC, one of the union contractors I worked for told me about watching some Asian neighbors collect little white mushrooms from their front yard every morning. He saw they were growing in his too, so liking mushrooms, he collected some too. He spent a couple weeks in Intensive Care in a coma most of the time. His son was called in and told to contact his family minister because he wasn't going to make it. Apparently, even with fluids being injected, his body was dehydrating. Long story short, I leave the fungi alone lol.

Fungi 101 right there, if one doesn't know, don't touch. There's like 5000 different kinds of that grow on the west coast of NA alone and some are highly sought after in the culinary circles.
But there is loads that will take a person down a road of hurt and a medical cure isn't an option.
Then some are sought after to take a person on a trip of epic proportions.:laughing7:
