Hi , T Net So far 2011 has had some unexpected surprises . Made a banner with Billing's spoon .. not one lousy vote for the the rev. war Rare Thirteenth Continental Infantry button in first picture .. worth more than USA rev war buttons .. oh well never was meant to be .. the 600.00 cash helps . 
Quick recap with pics . Hope you enjoy . Summer has been a busy season for me but I have planned out some New adventures and secured permission to hunt a few new sites . We'll see what turns up this Fall . Update : End of 2011 total .. 
26 King George coppers , 31 US Large cents , 8 US half cents , 5 colonial state coins , 57 Indianheads & 2 two centers , one three cent silver , one bust dime , 15 seated silver , 11 barber , 6 Spanish reales , 2 British silvers . that spoon was handmade by the Silversmith , Rev. War , Captain Andrew Billings , Fishkill , NY 1773 -1796 . It is a coin silver , salt spoon , some call it a crumb spoon . Seldom dug, if ever ! Extremely fortunate to get this one and it is a gem . My Best Find for 2011 
A lot of NJ West Coast towns were the providers of a Colonial Philly favorite 
you will find oyster shells on almost every dig site in NJ and Pa . Most , if not all ,were from the Delaware Bay . Economy thrived in these port towns . Some of the homes I pictured were built for Captains .None are shacks 
The shellfish men were paid well , and with any luck we'll find some of these lost coins and relics from these ol' shellfishing boys .
