wireless headphones

bubba707... just purchased the auvio cordless headphones from Radioshack and the inline volume control and 1/4 adapter for my
Explorer se pro, the transmiter had a little power in so I connected it to the detector and it sounds great, very close to the koss
headphones that came with the Explorer. Headphones are not heavy at all with batteries installed :hello2: same price 79.95plus
1/4 adapter and volume controll cord thanks for the information

outdoors, there's a volume control built into the headphones. It controls both sides so they aren't independent. All I'm using for the transmitter is a right angle adapter.

I checked on the Auvio Head phones at our local RS and they are $79.00 .
The data I could find on the transmitter said that they last about 5 hours of solid use the range was about 30' .
Though I have not tried this yet so I can not vouch for the data that I was told from Radio Shack .

I am thinking about getting them but I have a set of Sennheiser HD 202 's and I put in an inline volume control
so I can't justify getting the wireless just yet.

Hey, when I spoke with the guy at Radio Shack he pointed out to me with significant emphasis that if they did not work on my detector that I could return them within 30 days no questions asked, RS policy. (As long as they were not obviously damaged.)

bubba707 I bought the volume controll for the same reason the 90 degree angle because I did not want
the transmiter sticking out at the end of my detector behind my elbow that is were my headphones plugs in at, and my headphone plug is 1/4 inch
not 1/8 inch... they did not have a cable with 1/4 inch on one end and a 1/8 inch plug on the other end so I picked up
a 1/4 adapter to make it work ..... and it works great :hello2: I velcroed the transmiter on the side of my elbow cuff

The main thing is it works. :icon_thumleft: Thinking on it I might need to add the cable for the DFX since the jack is at the rear.

I have bought and tried the Auvio's and I am impressed. The transmitter should go for about 5 hours and takes about 45 min to charge. I have a 110 outlet in my car so I can detect in the AM, charge during lunch, and go in the PM. Of course I have a set of Treasure ears for backup.
Sound quality is the same or better than the Treasure ears, and the transmitter is so small that with some velcro and a small cable it can be mounted anywhere on the detector. Well worth the money in my book. $80.00 at the local Radio Shack for me including tax.

Make sure you buy an extended warranty. Like everything else you buy at RS, they will have a two month lifespan.....I'm on my third set now.

I did that for one year. Do you suggest the 2 yr?
