My best friend married into a affluent family in the Buffalo, NY area. His wife's great aunt owns some major property in Buffalo area and of of them goes back to 1800 and was built by one of the founders of Lockport, NY. This property consists of a 6000 sq. ft. mansion, a couple carriage houses, workshops, barns and one other residence on the 100+ acre lot. His wife's great aunt has been living on the property for many years( she is 86ish now) and the family has owned it since the early 1800's I believe. The nice thing is that her great aunt is quite reclusive and did not allow people on the property...So this place is pretty much virgin territory to a detectorist. We are heading up there this weekend and have full reign over the 140 acres. Another interesting point is that there were rumored to be 6 gold bars buried on the property.. we'll see!
