DSC09675.webpDSC09676.webpDSC09679.webpthis was a creek find and have always wondered what type it was. its better made than the pic shows. There is a lot of mineral deposit on it. I never clean them too much. This was a saline county, IL. find

Similar to what we would likely label as Besant over here. I'd just call it a nice little side notch.

After looking at one of my usual sources, I think strongly resembles what is called a Matanzas.

Idk but it looks old ??? Nice point

JMO it looks like a Brewerton side-notched found in the Ohio river valley area 4000 to 6000yrs old nice find:icon_thumleft:

I did look at that type and consider it briefly. The Brewerton's are said to have a straight to concave base, and outlaws point has a convex base.

it has some simularities to a godar or black sand/godar but the notches are shallow?

maybe SRV could guess

Godar reportedly has a straight base Steve.

It would be nice to get grims opinion for sure.

It looks like a Carter to me..after a couple re-sharpenings. Either that or a Bakers creek.

If it was found a little further east I would agree with Brewerton
