Wondering did I semi fry my quattro

Well it's been a while since I took out the old Quattro but kinda missed it. The only problem is I put some worn out rechargeables in it and they died right away. Then I put some Ac deco Alkalines in it and they only lasted like 7 and a half hours. Now correct me if I wrong but aren't the batteries supposed to last around 15 hours on a set of Alkalines for the Quattro and Safari. Or did I just get a bad batch of batteries or did I semi fry my detector by putting in those old rechargeables? Question has anyone else had bad luck with some Alkalines not lasting too long on there Quattro or Safari? I was using the internal speaker not headphones.

Headphones will drasticlly increase the life of batteries. That speaker sucks juice.
Don't worry. You didn't fry anything.

Cool thanks man i could of sworn my batteries lasted longer than 7 and a half hours with alkalines. Maybee there just lowsy brand ac delco. I usually hunt without head phones cant stand using them. My hearing alows me to not really need them even though i know theres a slight advantage to using them.

Also depends on the quality/age of the alkaline batteries.
