Wont detect gold

Can someone tell my why detector is not picking up gold. I might have pushed too many buttons so can i reset it and start at the beginning?

The first question that will be asked is WHAT Detector do you have? There are many experts on this forum, but they will want to know. Each brand / model is different

What Tommyb said, need to know make and model. Most likely descrimination is set so high only 22-24 kt gold will be seen.
