Something you don't see very often. A celt still in its original haft. The Elizabeth Islands trend SW from Cape Cod , and are between mainland Ma., and Martha's Vineyard. The wood has been treated with some type of preservative, but this was found as you see it, and is at least several hundred years old. It was brought up from the water by a quahogger working from his skiff. On display at the Robbins Museum of the Massachusetts Archaeological Society.
