I found this the other day. It appears to be a handmade bracelet for a child, made from uniform insignia with screw back posts. I am guessing it is WW2 due to the tank pin. I have never served, so any insight would be helpful. My guess is it was worn by a son whose father served or was serving? Anyone ever seen one before?

the tank and crossed sabre insignia is Armored Cavalry. that insignia first came into use in 1950

So that rules out WW2

with it having a screw back post, I would imagine it is an early one. that makes me think this bracelet dates back to the Korean war. looks like it would be uncomfortable to wear though, with the posts coming through to the inside

I agree, but it is shaped like a bracelet, but too small for an adult. What else could it be?

it's got to be a bracelet, and probably for the guy's wife or girlfriend. maybe she was really skinny

Or maybe it was made of what-not parts into something to sell - maybe not even meant for wearing.

Definitely a possibility

It may have been bent around a pole...flag pole? Or some type object. And, when removed ~ opened, it took bracelet form?
It's way too small, even for a petite women.
With those post, I doubt anyone would wear it, imho.

Perhaps used to tie back a woman's hair .

Interesting piece...
Trench art theme?
A full (not split) leather backing would protect the studs.
A boot toe or heel cap?
Lapel pins used on the piece anyway..
Wondering if the metal piece itself the lapel pins are mounted on has any significance. Captured material or one of personal significance from a tour... or something similar.

Maybe it was going to be a bracelet, and the guy realized his mistake ?
