Worn & thin

But a neat find anyway. Went to a site I've hunted a dozen times, and
every time I leave I think I've found everything I'm going to find there.
It always draws me back and I find a couple more coins each time I go
back. Found a 1895 o barber dime, and a 1917s lincoln this morning.

That 17-s wheat back is worth $15 in EF condition. (It's worth $60 in Mint state according to the pcgs grading guide)

Hey... That is the key date barber dime... Just checked the 2007 Red Book... Only 440,000 minted... G-4 at $350.00... VG at $500.00... Great find...

Congrats on a key date coin!! Once found two worn key date dimes(1893-0, 1897-0) in the same hole!!

Nice coins,

I've done the same thing over and over again. Swear you got it all. Then you get a nice keeper like that dime. Weather, angles, technique all plays a roll. It really hard to hunt a place out.

Nice dime! Even though it only grades AG-3 (due to the rim worn down into the lettering), it is still a valuable coin.

I'm in Wyoming and found it with a sovereign xs2a. I see you use the
sovereign also. Went back to that site today with considerably less luck.
Only found a 1929d lincoln today.

Yeah... I like the Sov alot. But... I just bought a new Whites XLT, so the Sov is in the closet
at the moment. The reason I was asking where you were, is your site name, "MonDak". I am
originally from the SW corner of North Dakota, and I thought you were from that area. I
now live in Colorado. I know a couple of guys that found a civil war site up in Wyoming, and
they would never tell anyone where it was. They dug some of the nicest artifacts I've ever
seen, and they said the "good stuff" was in safty deposit boxes. I have a feeling it was around
Cheyenne someplace, but I'm not sure. I want to try to find out where this site is.
