Would a Pirate's treasure chest be a banner find?
UPDATE: The little ring that used to have a stone? Tested positive for 14 kt gold today. How about those apples!?
Had gold in the hand and didn't even know! LOL
If it had been marked it looks like it must've been worn for a long time and wore off. It does appear to be of an old style. 1.73 grams.
Even so, I kind of like the little pirate. I suspect that it's old too. Looks to me like a hand painted little trinket. Some sort of strange base metal, not lead, maybe pewter. It looks like it might have been gold plated too.
Just thought I'd share!
HH!
Since I saw how small a gold dollar really is, I've been listening closer to what my detector has been telling me. I even asked it to find me a treasure chest today. This is what it found for me:

I gotta admit, it did as I asked.
LOL
Still listening for small, iffy signals I got this one that was "clearly another pull tab".

Only, it wasn't.
A little later and another "clearly a pull tab signal".

Only, it wasn't
LOL
Looks like it held a stone at one time too.

I haven't tested this yet but I suspect silver. Still, the style of the ring kind of looks to me as an old one. Anyone?
(sorry about the black and white pics)
Anyway, a fun little hunt.

Thanks for peeking.
