Some more info. It appears to be one piece, not flat but elliptical profile, has the remains of a broken shank on the back, pictured with a wheat penny. Thanks

Probably first 30 years of the 19th century, and a civilian button. If there is a backmark then definitely 19th century.

Wheatie and likely a mid-19thc cuff button. :thumbsup:
If it's a one-piece button, then it'll likely date prior to 1850.
