Wow! 5 minute hunt nets 14K GOLD!

Planning to go out all day after dinner, so what happens while making dinner? Downpours and thunder. Well, about 7:00 no rain or thunder for 1/2 hour or so and jump into the car. Tot Lot #1 that yielded two gold last year is my closest target area. Light sprinkles start as I head over. I check an area right up next to the school I haven't hit yet and nothing, downpour hits so I take refuge under the front door roof. About 3 minutes later it lets up enough so I go into a small section in front of the school I hit once before and got a junk watch and a hit that I just couldn't find the object causing it. I went right to mystery beep from before and pulled a clad quarter, turned around to check under a small sapling and got a chirpy hit. Just as I pulled the plug and saw the gold band...BOOM, big thunder. I poked the dirt out of the band, gave the top a quick wipe to get off the majority of the dirt, stuffed it in my pocket and headed home. Beautiful 14K 3 stone Jade ring marked SJ14K. Quick search and it is a vintage('40-'60) S.J. Lau designed ring. Of course the rain and thunder are gone again and I Jonesing to get out right now.

Not a problem for me, I have four sons and only my wife to lay claim to anything and she is not a big jewelry lover, Yeah Me!

My fastest gold would be hard to beat - arrived at beach - walked to wet sand - placed my coil to the soil
put headphones on and turn it on and blew my ears off - thought something was wrong and moved coil slightly and machine went silent
put back where it was and went off again - scooped and had a large wedding band - it was that easy
funny thing was ... I was just setting my machine up to go into the water - I was not going to hit the wet sand cause tons of guys do it here
- I worked around a little more before going in with no other hits there in the wet sand - went into the water and worked for like 3 hours with only
finding a lot of coins - headed back out and when I hit the wet sand again - when I normally would turn my machine off - I swung a few times and just down where I had entered got another bang - turned out to be another gold wedding band - so 1st and last targets were gold - you just never know
