WW2 button?? Great condition

Hunting old house site where I have dug some CW relics. Out popped this. First for me. Backmark says New York and what looks like NS Meyer.. I believe this is WW2? Any idea on precise ID.

Nice great seal button, 1908 or later. There were many manufacturers over the years. Check out the great thread started by Bigcypresshunter several years back. You may see your match there.

As Terpfan posted the great seal goes back to circa WW I! Put a little Aluminum Jelly (you can buy it on Amazon) on that button and it'll clean up beautifully!

Will aluminum jelly bring out the gilding?

Yes and it will make it bright and shiny again.

Here's a button I used it on that's from the same time-frame as yours. When dug I could see very little gilt.
