WWII Airborne fist bump at the VA

Waiting for my turn at the VA lab to have blood drawn, I noticed this old Vet looking at me. I could not figure out why? When he was done we passed each other and at first he tried to shake my hand, but as he lifted his hand up it turned into a fist and we did the fist bump. Wow that was cool, then I noticed his cap said World War II 82nd Airborne and I had my 18th Airborne cap on. I thought to myself "WWII and Cold War soldiers meet. AIRBORNE, AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY, ALL THE TIME".
