Yes I'm green, but I joined another club today :)

Thanks to my buddy Chris, I was able to come away with a 1900 V nickel and a few other keepers. Iffy 75-82 signal on the ATP but worth a shot. Also a nice toy soldier who apparently took a land mine...Still has some face paint and appears to have(had) body paint. I used a bit of water on a paper towel and off came a greenish-yellow shading on the towel, and it was in normal Florida sand that has now particular color. Don't know the age but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. As for the other item, well, probably an early garment clip but still cool I think. Thanks for the look

Hello Btoots. Nice finds! That soldier cleaned up real good. Welcome to the V nickel club and you joined the Barber club at the same site last week! Looks like a pretty good site to me...too bad we have now officially dug the $#!+ out of it...but there is always new dirt to dig...right? Chris

Love that V Nickle, looks like you had a good hunt..

Your V looks better than any I have found, so big congrats!

Nice finds and the V is in great shape.

Yeah! That nickel fared far better than most. Like the soldier too.

Btoots, Hard to tell by the photo, but if your soldier has a small hole in the top of his right hand, then I can be reasonably sure on his identification. He is: "Flagbearer, Campaign hat," made by the Theodore Hahn Company, 16-18 Hopkins Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey, circa 1921-1927. He would have held an American flag made of cloth with a wire pole. He is a rare one, too bad he has battle damage. Great finds, congrats! Sub 8-)

Very nice finds. The ground around here eats up the nickels.

I have yet to find a lead soldier, and am quite jealous of that nice one you found. GL&HH.

I'll check on that Sub, thanks for the potential ID, I'll let you know. Hate to see an incomplete(busted off) toy. Found him here in Florida so the sharks way have got him :)

Great find ! I only have a little over a year in myself, but have yet to dig a V nickel, so congrats! Keep up the great work, nice post...ddf
