Yes ter days hunt

Stopped at a new cellar hole and found the 1945 mercury and the James Madison brass presidential coin. I will have to wait for the cold weather to hit this spot again everything was three feet tall and thick. Went back to a old button hole with a new 12 inch coil and came away with four flats a little tiny raised and a Horstmann Bros & CO Phil , Navy or Marines Button. Still without a reference book. Arty

Thanks fieldslayer, I was walking away from the site to go home when this nice little button came my way. Its funny how sometimes the best find is in the beginning and your all pumped up the rest of the day. In my case I was only feet away from turning the detector off when a sharp signal woke me from my thoughts. I knew there was a insignia of some sort on the button but did not have my glasses so the ride home took for ever. It was a fun day.
