I haven't had much time to post, yesterday we went back out to our colonial era woods in search of oldness. What a beautiful morning to hunt, cool and no bugs.

Not long after arriving I found another CT copper, under a mass of roots. I must've spent 20 minutes extracting this copper.

Also found another completely toasted copper, no way of identifying unfortunately.

From previous hunts in the last couple weeks, a KG

Last week found three LC and a Half Cent

The Largies are pretty crusty, but careful went to work on one that seemed to have potential.

Cleaned up pretty nice:

Also, Mike (Secondstar) and I finally got Joe to join TreasureNet, hopefully he'll post something! His handle is ACOJoe, keep an eye out for some of his finds.

Enjoy the rest of the season,

Awesome coins! Nice collection of LC’s. The one you cleaned up is great, like the old Half Cent and State Copper as well. Your silvers have incredible details. Great post! Congrats

Those are some excellent finds. Congrats. Thanks for the nice pics and nice of you to introduce a new member as well.

That 1853 large cent came out perfect! Question for youL: what type of trees were in your forest? Been detecting an area that goes back to colonial times and the coppers are all badly corroded. Lots of pine needles.

Awesome finds! Love the LC.

Amazing finds! I'm not sure which of them I like most! Congrats!

Great group of finds! Keep up the good work

Wow, awesome finds! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: How did you clean the LC? It looks amazing!

That looks like a dream place to hunt and all those coins wowza. A copper is on my bucket list I have about 20 buckets to fill. I would spend the whole day to get that copper out. I would have chopped that tree down lol

These areas are primarily hardwoods, but mixed with pine. It's always a crap shoot with coppers, every once in a while you get a diamond in the rough.

Slow, careful picking with a toothpick and soft brush. It actually wanted to come off, you know how sometimes the layer of corrosion is kind of flaky? Reverse cleaned up nicely as well...
