Yesterday's digs - Big Copper & Big Silver............

...............but very little else ??? I got permission to detect at this old home that, according to family members, was built in 1822. I had high hopes for some nice mid 1800's coins and relics. I spent about 3 hours sampling different areas around the house, cherry picking for dime, quarter, and large cent readings on my F75. I still dug a nice sampling of trash, a sleigh bell, a 1930 dog tag, suspender buckle, two clad dimes, two memorial cents.................and these two coins that everyone likes to dig :laughing7:

Re: Yesterday's digs - Big Copper & Big Silver............

As I have said many times Steve, if you dig a Walker that you can read the date on, it's a good one. Nice coins. HH, Quindy.
By the way, Dman and I looked for your friend at the Franklin, TN CW show but with 1,000 tables the closest thing I saw was "Texana Relics" and the name on the guy's business cards didn't match. That many relics in one building was overwhelming!!!

I thought you were going to the Nashville show which is always in December. Is the Franklin show the same as the Nashville show? My buddy has been setting up at the Nashville show for the last 15 years or so. I can imagine it would be overwhelming with that many tables.

Nice job on the cherry-pickin' Steve. Now I guess you gotta slow down and see what else is there. Maybe you can find an early privy there too. Good luck!!

Rick, it was just a common sleigh bell. Not even a crotal style. About 1.25 inches in diameter with one slot and 4 holes and a boss where it attached to the leather strap. It also has a chunk of some type of scrap metal fused to it. I haven't even tried to clean it yet. Definitely not very photogenic :icon_pale:
