I kept digging yesterday. This site is on a hilltop. There is about 8" of soil and then a clay layer. I mean solid clay, very hard to dig. You could make pottery. I wouldn't think that there would be anything below that. I dug about a 5 foot circle down to the clay. No chips at all. A little bit of iron, some pieces of quartz, and some limestone. Last night it rained so its a real mess now. I'm going to keep digging when it dries up some.

I was playing with terraclient the other day, looking at the creek north of the house. The top shows the existing creek. The bottom is our farm. I think in the center is the old creek bed running through a very flat wheat field. I'm told that this area is loaded with artifacts, but I haven't found many.
