Hey everybody, I've been lurking around reading this forum for a couple weeks now and it got me really interested so last week I went to my bank and asked if they had any halves, they said they didn't so I ended up getting some $2 bills just for fun. Anyway I got the itch to try again today and on my way home from work stopped by the bank and asked again, I figured I'd withdraw some money and try some of the other banks on my way home from work. Didn't think they'd have any halves since I was just there but what the heck. I ended up going home with $100 in CWR of halves. Long story short I pulled a 1954 Franklin and 3 40%s. They may not be pretty, they are pretty tarnished, but boy was it a rush when I saw those rims. I am hooked. Don't worry though I won't be ordering multiple boxes a week anytime soon so I"m not much competition.

Ok Here's a scan of the coins. Couldn't get a good picture but the scanner seems to do them justice.

All silver is pretty silver! Congrats on your find.

Well this is how it starts, your hooked now and will never look back. Congratulations on a good start, now go find some more!!

Great job giniro. You should be excited about the Ben. I've only found one in the wild. Keep at it and good luck.

Oh you bet I was excited about it. I was stupid with excitement when I found these, my wife was giving me that "Yeah yeah that's nice honey." look.
Thanks for the words of support and encouragement folks, I'm probably going to check some more banks on my way home from work tomorrow.

You say you won't be ordering multiple boxes? I'm from Vegas, and I would bet about 3:1 you will! Congrats on your cool finds, man.

Im going to vegas in march. Last time I was there I remember seeing all those halves they use to pay out black jacks. I didnt eye a single silver do you find a lot of silver in sin city?

Nice finds, Franklins are my favorites Im still waiting for my first Walker..

Nice finds!!! I have yet to find a franklin your off to a great start.

If you don't like how its tarnished or dirty clean it up a bit. Some people say not to clean coins, but if i find some that are dirty ill look it up n make sure its not a rare date or anything, n ill take baking soda and a little bit of tap water n just rub the coin with you're fingers n it'll clean it right up. If its scrap silver i don't think it should matter if you clean it

215 oz last year. Not from casinos tho. Mostly half boxes & a few nice CWR scores.

I would go the baking soda and hot distilled water on tinfoil route. Get out a tupperware, tear off a piece of tinfoil and add about 2 teaspoons of baking soda. Then bring a half cup or cup of distilled water to a boil in the microwave and pour it in. stir up the water till the baking soda is about dissolved and drop your coin on to the foil. It's non abrasive and it cleans up nicely (and get's the spots you miss with rubbing it). Then blot it dry.

Poor 'ol Ben needs a dip! Nice little haul, congrats!

Just don't do it on rare coins.
