You found something of great value while detecting?

I know there are some who have found some amazing discoveries on here that seem to have impacted there lives significantly. I couldn’t imagine something like that happening to me though LOL.

It is nice to day dream a little at least.

Before great grand kids my wife and detected most of the East coast and many places elsewhere. Not all the treasures were silver or gold! Our finds ranged from hilarious to down right "spooky". Some of the best were the returns that were very emotional.

Real easy. I EU, everithing found is the property of the State and have to be reported. In the proces of takeing the find away from you they can easily find out it was unprofesionaly dug out i.e. the historical context destroyed etc. The law is written in a way it is generally allowed to metaldetect but one is not allowed to find anything older than 100 yeares or 50 yeares and of millitary origin.

What i found odd here is that the display states that Rico recovered this from the Atocha in 1982,

Which is really odd for the simple reason that Atocha was not found for another 3 years from that date... in 1985.

Perhaps they meant to say The Margarita... which was found in 80
Dunno .Pix were taken here .But I sure could do some serious shopping there:)
